This blog exists to expose the utter lack of technique that infamous "critic" (read: hack) Armond White holds in his "reviews" (read: rants). He uses pretty words that any astute reader can understand, but nothing that he says makes sense in the slightest. He also hates anything with artistic integrity (preferring films like "Norbit" and "Transporter 3" over "The Dark Knight" and "Slumdog Millionaire") and recommends things sometimes simply because the crix love them.
This has been done before (a couple years ago, on a blog entitled The Resistance that only lasted for a few months) but even that one wasn't in-depth enough. It sidesteps White's reviews by not using very many quotes. I think that I, as well as my co-creators, can do better, by being honest with our inclusion of quotes and conservative in our personal attacks. We don't hate Armond, but we do think he has misplaced the reason for cinema's existence, as well as what makes a movie good.
That journey begins this week, as we backtrack to the beginning of this summer, with his wrongheaded views of films like "Star Trek" and "Land of the Lost." Keep watch.
